This very old larch will be on display tomorrow at This very old larch will be on display tomorrow at the Trophy exhibition. Let’s see who recognizes it. I acquired it from a customer about 8 years ago. He collected the tree in the mountains 30 years ago. Six years ago, I began reshaping it and changing the front, angles, and later also the pot. In the process, I also removed some large branches. There was a large root on the back, which I slowly reduced over three years. #bonsai #bonsaiart #brosebonsai

The trees I am showing here are only a small selec The trees I am showing here are only a small selection of impressive examples from the exhibition at WORBAC Bonsai Art Fest 2025 in Xinyi, China. I also found it interesting that, although this was not an exhibition of the Chinese Penjing Artists Association, which has a rule for its exhibitions, at least for the literati category, that no wire may be used on the tree, most of the large trees shown here at the main exhibition had no wire. Personally, I think this is a very good thing. Basically, this exhibition was a much freer form in terms of displays compared to the exhibitions of the Chinese Penjing Artists Association, which places even more emphasis on traditional displays. The trees shown in the photos are mostly single presented. In addition to the individually presented trees, there was an incredibly large area with an estimated 10-15 individual rooms in which individual groups or artists created completely free designs such as small gardens, living rooms, or theme parks. There was also a large Shohin display area, but the Shohin shown there were not of very high quality.Overall, I have to say it was a great experience. We had a choice between various small junipers and medium-sized black pines, and I chose one. It’s not breathtaking material, but everyone can show what they can do with it. It was a lot of fun. It was a different kind of demonstration, not on stage, but with everyone on the same level.
